林嵐於是次展覽展出的作品利用了藝術家自2014年起收集的紅色傘布，拼貼成一面巨型旗幟。林嵐經常於作品內使用回收物料，當中不單是表面上物料改造、環保等的狹義表現，更重要的是反思非物質的精神價值。然而，藝術家過往作品內卻鮮有使用紅色。藝術家表示，紅色是「來自中國傳統最常見的顏色，亦是我最想反叛的傳統⋯⋯這次用的傘布，雖稱為紅色，但是那不是純工業產生的紅色，而是經雨水刷洗，人氣沾染，歲月洗禮後呈現出來的不同紅色，使我（人）心服，不經我（人）手調色，自然產生——我（人）成為紅色組合的黏合劑。」

Jaffa Lam’s work in the exhibition employs the red umbrella fabrics the artist has been collecting since 2014 and which were then stitched into a large flag. Lam’s work frequently engages with recycled material beyond reappropriation and sustainability to contemplate immateriality. However, red is a colour rarely seen in the artist’s oeuvre. According to the artist, the colour red is ‘most traditionally Chinese, and it’s a tradition that I would like to rebel against the most… Although the umbrella fabric used this time is red, it is not a red that is manufactured purely through industrial means. It is a red that has been rain-washed and seen extensive usage over a long time. The different hues of red has me (or viewers) convinced. It is not tainted by my (or human) involvement, and is entirely made by nature. I (as a human) am simply a glue that binds these hues of red together.
